Mythfall Roblox Combat Guide - Controls & Keybinds

Master the active combat system in Mythfall Roblox with complete controls, keybinds, block, parry, dodge mechanics, and the poise stagger system.

Quick answer

  • 1Combat utilizes active block (Hold F), parry (timed F), and dodge (Q) mechanics.
  • 2Elite enemies have a poise stagger bar that stuns them at 50% and leaves them vulnerable at 0%.
  • 3Players can switch between weapon and magic movesets using number keys to access active abilities.

Basic combat controls

Mythfall relies on precise keybinds. Understanding these controls is essential for defeating early boss encounters in the tutorial and main game.

  • Movement: W, A, S, D keys
  • Sprint: Hold Shift
  • Equip/Draw Sword: E key
  • Dodge/Dash: Q key
  • Block: Hold F key
  • Parry: Timed F key (just as the attack hits)
  • Light Attack: Left Click (M1)
  • Strong/Heavy Attack: R key
  • Climb: G key
  • Wall Run: Face away from a wall and press Space
  • Dismount Wall Run: G key
  • Crouch: C key
  • Cross Gaps: Shift + Space
  • Equip Weapon Moveset: 1 key
  • Equip Magic Moveset: 2 key
  • Abilities: Z, X, V keys

Movement, sprinting and climbing

Mobility is highly dynamic. Players can sprint by holding Shift, wall run along specific paths by facing away from walls and pressing Space, and use climbing mechanics (G) to scale destroyed routes.

Light attack, strong attack and blocking

Regular combat consists of M1 light attacks and R strong attacks. When defending, players can hold F to block, which absorbs damage but increases their posture bar. If the posture bar fills completely, the player's guard breaks, causing a stagger.

Dodge, parry and boss timing

Parrying (pressing F right before an attack lands) is the most effective defense, as it negates all damage and lowers posture. Unblockable attacks (often highlighted in red) cannot be blocked or parried and must be avoided using Q to dodge.

Poise and stagger system

Elite enemies and bosses feature a posture/poise bar. Damaging their poise staggers them. When the poise bar drops to 50%, they are briefly stunned. At 0%, they enter a vulnerable state where they take massive critical damage.

Weapon moveset vs. magic moveset

Players can switch their active moveset using the 1 and 2 keys. Pressing 1 activates the weapon moveset (featuring skills like Magic Slash and Cross Slash), while pressing 2 activates the magic moveset (featuring skills like Soul Rend, Magic Explosion, and Jump Explosion).

How to practice combat after launch

The best place to practice is the tutorial boss fight against Hellel. This fight teaches posture management in Phase 1, and introduces giant boss movement and unblockable grab attacks in Phase 2 when Hellel transforms into a dragon.
